ONDAMED is an electromagnetic frequency device that offers a highly specific biophysical analysis and application based on electromagnetic inductivity. A practitioner rapidly scans the body's preferences, determines interference fields, and simultaneously delivers the frequencies that each individual requires to move towards homeostasis, thus creating a 'balance'. It is a comprehensive system that integrates frequencies of sound and color with those outside the range of human sensation. During an ONDAMED session, you may experience a mild tingling sensation, a feeling of release or nothing at all. Reports of feeling relaxed, refreshed and being able to think more clearly are common. ONDAMED can be used independently or in conjunction with any existing therapies or modalities you may be using. You may respond faster and better with your existing therapies or modalities when combined with ONDAMED.
ONDAMED Biofeedback System
ONDAMED is a biofeedback machine that delivers modulated electromagnetic frequencies in order to facilitate a patient's return to homeostasis. By means of the Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS), the practitioner rapidly scans the body's preferences, determines necessary frequencies, and simultaneously applies them all in one healing session. This is not a diagnostic tool like other systems on the market that merely read imbalanced frequencies in the body. ONDAMED is a unique device that actually supplies what each person requires in order to move towards homeostasis and achieve maximum health.
For over a decade, therapists across Europe have been utilizing ONDAMED in their practice with enormous success. Rolf Binder, who invented ONDAMED¨, has been in the field of Medical Electronics and Information Technology for more than 20 years. A specialist in biophysical medical testing and therapy application, Binder also invented Medtronic as well as many other esteemed medical devices for German medical equipment manufacturers. In 1993, he made the decision to establish his own company, Binder GmbH. In 2002 he opened its US subsidiary, ONDAMED Inc. in order to reach a wider audience with his revolutionary invention. The ONDAMED System exceeds all prior inventions in versatility, specificity, as well as effectiveness. Patients and therapists who use ONDAMED frequencies have all reported benefits on every level of health: physical, emotional, and mental. ONDAMED is a tool that will take your practice to a whole other level of mind-body medicine, psychoneuroimmunology, and pain management. Every practitioner should have it.
ONDAMED Biofeedback System: How does it work?
ONDAMED frequencies stimulate connective tissue. In German biological medicine, the connective tissue is known as the extracellular matrix. This extracellular matrix is a storage area for both nutrients and toxins, which are either delivered into the cells or excreted into the bloodstream or lymph. European physicians have demonstrated that stimulating the extracellular matrix:
The product of ONDAMED frequency stimulation is that your patients will begin to experience:
The name "ONDAMED¨" derives from the Latin "onda" for wave, which explains the system's function. The frequencies of the ONDAMED Biofeedback System break through disordered cellular communication in a stream of intermittent impulses or waves. This pulsatory delivery provides the body time to create counter-impulses. Pauses between the wave pulses permit the body to trigger a regulating response in the cells. Dormant conditions are transposed into active conditions via the process of normalization.
This transformation directs the body through a rapid reversal of symptoms, as recognized by the great 19th-century homeopathic physician, Constantine Hering, whose canonization of physis, the self-healing process, is now known as Hering's Law. More recently, theorists such as Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg have argued that physis proceeds from the cellular to the humoral level, as the organism searches to repair the damage it has undergone. ONDAMED case studies confirm the wisdom of these illustrious physicians.
Cases Studies:
Please read under our "case studies" for reactions to ONDAMED in various settings from practitioners across North America and Europe.
How the ONDAMED Biofeedback System is used:
1. With VAS, the practitioner locates specific frequencies to which the patient responds. Independent studies* have proven that these frequencies correlate to particular body organs, each organ resonating on a distinctive cluster of frequencies.
2. The practitioner scans the patient with these specific frequencies from head to toe and front to back while monitoring VAS. He or she will be able to pinpoint the patient's underlying interference fields and blockages, which result from scar tissues, psychological holding patterns, and cellular memory. During the scanning process, the practitioner concurrently provides therapy to the patient with the specifically necessary frequencies at any one session.
3. The practitioner first tests for, and then applies any of the 173 preset programs of bundled frequencies. Clinical experience has proven that these programs can benefit individuals with many common complaints. The programs cover a wide range of health concerns, including revitalization, CNS balance, stress, pain, and geopathic stress.
4. The practitioner first tests for, and then applies frequencies that correspond to specific pathogenic microorganisms, including mutant strains and antibiotic-resistant.
ONDAMED practitioners are expected to follow these four steps in this order to maximize the potential benefits of reproducible results.
The Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS) is a pulse feedback method developed by Dr. Paul Nogier in 1968, based on his study of traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Nogier discovered that there are four pulse responses to stimuli: no response, weakening of the pulse signal (negative VAS), increase of the pulse signal (positive VAS), and a sharp pulse spike. These responses can arise from sound frequencies, light waves, colors, magnetic currents, emotions, touch, substances, as well as ONDAMED wave impulses. Pulse spikes occur as the ONDAMED biofeedback device scans through the entire range of frequencies, or as the practitioner moves the applicators over areas of the body where energy blockages are detected, or scans for any number of the 173 preset programs. VAS training is included at all ONDAMED training sessions.
When they are not receiving care at an office visit, patients benefit at home from water's ability to retain charged frequencies without chemical transformation. The practitioner charges a bottle of pure water for ten seconds with the patient's necessary frequencies. Patients may then carry their ONDAMED treatment home, by simply drinking a glass of this water every day. This treatment has proven to be a simple, inexpensive, and effective enhancement to the patient's optimum health.
When the ONDAMED Biofeedback System can be used:
You may use ONDAMED Biofeedback System with all your patients alone or in combination with other therapies to optimize their effect. ONDAMED has provided relief to individuals with a range of symptoms by the invigorating effect of its frequencies on body tissues.

Many case studies have proven that ONDAMED clarifies numerous complexities that still defy medical understanding, optimizing the body's ability to repair and regulate itself. Whether you are a psychotherapist or a medical practitioner, ONDAMED can be an incalculable addition to your practice.
Frequently asked questions about the device, answered by Rolf Binder, the inventor of ONDAMED:
Q: What size is the device?
A: The dimensions of the base unit are 4"h x 18.5"l x 14"d or 105mm (H) x 470mm (B) x 360mm (T). In a hard shell case, the system's weight is roughly 27 lbs or 12 kg.
Q: Is the device based on scientific principles?
A: Yes, the ONDAMED Biofeedback System is grounded in principles of biophysics. Essentially, an electromagnetic impulse is a physical parameter. The Induction underlies the effect of these impulses.
Q: Is there a particular kind of frequency that is being used?
A: ONDAMED uses electromagnetic impulse waves, which are very different from other systems that may use microwave frequencies or radio frequencies. An electromagnetic impulse elicits a gradual change of the magnetic field strength. Because of the short impulse, the electromagnetic field in the organism rapidly returns to its original value. When entering the organism, this impulse prompts a counter-impulse within the cell tissues and thereby stimulates a self-regulating response in the body.
Q: What exactly is the frequency intensity?
A: The frequency intensity describes the pulsation level. When the intensity becomes greater, the electromagnetic impulse penetrates deeper into the organism.
Q: Where did your concept for the ONDAMED technology come from?
A: The concept for ONDAMED is the product of my 20 years of developing various bio-energetic medical devices in Germany. When I was involved in diagnostic and treatment modalities I discovered flaws based on the actual physical explanation of these concepts. This inspired me to create the ONDAMED¨.
Q: What actually happens during the ONDAMED process?
A: During an ONDAMED application various applicators produce specific frequencies which generate a vibration around and within the cells. This vibration initiates a regulating effect by excreting accumulated toxins and waste, thereby ameliorating the immune and lymphatic system, metabolism, and circulation. Special protocols associated to the central nervous system increase the ability to handle emotional and physical stress.
Q: What feature distinguishes the ONDAMED Biofeedback System from other frequency devices?
A: There are several dissimilarities. The main difference is that ONDAMED is an amalgamation of physical therapy and specific whole-body analysis through pulse feedback application (VAS). Within minutes, the practitioner knows which frequencies or preset protocols are most critical for the patient. These patient-specific frequencies or protocols are used to scan the patient's body to find the most significant blockages. Interference fields are concurrently released and thereby cause a body regulating effect during the scanning process. The ONDAMED induces a positive attitude towards life- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Q: Your medical technology is combined with the French physicist Nogier's well-established VAS or the pulse feedback system. Many therapists spend years and pay thousands of dollars to learn the application technique of the VAS. How do you surmount this obstacle?
A: Very good question. I have met many people over the years to whom learning and application of the VAS poses problems. This process need not be so difficult. When a therapist introduces an electromagnetic field into the patient's body and simultaneously feels the VAS, the pulse signal becomes more pronounced. Therapists typically feel the VAS response almost instantly.
Q: How is it possible that you are able to test for 15 different frequencies on your patient using the VAS in less than one second, given that the pulse beat changes only every second?
A: The pulse feedback is not dependant on the patient's heartbeat, in fact. Rather, there is a very quick response from the autonomic nervous system which prompts a change of blood flow in the vessels. The ONDAMED frequencies to which the patients resonate cause an immediate reaction in the vessel wall. At that point, the therapist feels the reaction in the form of an increase in the pulse's intensity, a "spasm" or a "jerking."
Q: It seems that the pulse test could be considered subjective. Would you have any plans to automate the VAS feedback in the future?
A: Everything can be considered subjective. At university clinics in New York as well as in Philadelphia, we have proven to conventional clinicians that the pulse changes can be felt by several physicians and nurses concurrently. The VAS testing method together with ONDAMED has been verified with ease and great success for a decade. We continually strive to improve our existing technology. But remember, no machine compares to the human touch.
Q: Rolf, over the past 20 years you have developed many different medical technologies. The ONDAMED System is demonstrably your greatest achievement by far. Tell us, why do you now focus on frequency applications?
A: The system is not only a matter of frequency application. Let's go back for a minute. We need to remember that frequency is defined as Òthe repetition of an action within a time unit.Ó The term Òfrequency applicationÓ is not fixed and can have many different meanings. With ONDAMED¨, we use electromagnetic impulse rates. This form of frequency application is an especially effective way to create a reaction in the body by way of a cellular vibration. From my perspective, this specific type of stimulation is the most direct way to reach the various levels within the body, including: skin, tissue and connective tissue, vessels, organs, etc. (and, of course, the emotional layers).
Q: What you say makes a lot of sense. How did you arrive at the specific frequencies used in the ONDAMED?
A: We based the individual frequencies on a range of different books and research papers collected from international sources. The ONDAMED frequency matrix is based on a precise mathematical formula, which also includes sound, tone harmony, and brainwave area. From this frequency matrix, we established preset protocols which address particular body regulating events.
Q: When I, as the therapist, am treating a patient, how do I know what frequency or preset protocol to select?
A: The patient's pulse response will lead the way. We are dealing with a constantly changing target, the biological organism. To date, the coupling of ONDAMED and the patient's pulse feedback is the simplest and most accurate way we know of to capture the patient's response at any given time. This method answers three essential questions: WHAT (frequency or preset protocol), WHERE (interference fields in the body) and HOW (the intensity of waves), to ensure the most effective application for the patient.
Q: I wish to start where we left off in our previous session, which was published in EXPLORE's most recent issue. You discussed Bioresonance therapy, which is widely accepted and used across Europe. When you say that this type of therapy is based on placebo effect, what exactly do you mean? A: First, we need to look at the definition of placebo. What does it mean and what is its effect? The dictionary can tell us that placebo replicates the taste and looks of a real pharmaceutical drug without chemical ingredients, by instead working on the basis of the power of the suggestion. The same principle can apply to equipment. Remember, both the drug and the equipment is reinforced by an individual, like the therapist or pharmacist. Working with or without placebo, the effect may still be the same. Bioresonance or electric testing methods have no exact physical explanation. As an electronics engineer I can tell you that the workings of such procedures are impossible; however, the effects are very possible. This leads me directly to suggest that these procedures and devices are successful placebos.
Q: Would you say that your ONDAMED System is likewise based on placebo?
A: No, ONDAMED differs from what I just explained. My experience comes from many years working with placebo-based applications. With ONDAMED¨, we are working with extremely effective and calculable impulse frequencies including patients' individual reactions to ONDAMED frequencies. The therapy revolves around the patient's reactions, and the therapist responds to them; knowing which specific frequencies to use and where on the body to focus them produces a therapeutic effect on body, mind, and spirit. I feel that modern, effective physical therapy must include all elements of human therapeutic approaches. Body, mind and spirit must be reprogrammed not only to want but also to believe that healing can and will occur. A truly effective therapist is a coach, assisting the patient out of the "maze of disorder.Ó
Q: So do you mean to say that you believe in a combination of placebo and physical treatment?
A: That's right. Placebo supports the mind in order for the body to more readily accept the healing journey. ONDAMED superbly incorporates the placebo by increasing the therapist's perception of the patient's status by 1) touching the patient, 2) feeling the pulse changes, 3) listening to the patient's comments and observing emotional release, and 4) responding verbally and potentially via the subconscious. This and more occurs, even while applying a physically proven therapy based on electromagnetic impulses. So yes, I believe that optimum healing occurs when an effective physical therapy and an effective placebo are combined.
